The standards application to development and use of information and control systems (ICSs) for critical purposes enhances their reliability but complicates a task of establishing reconfigurable systems and hence reconfigurable networks as part of them. In this work, the issues of creating and using reconfigurable critical purpose ICSs related, in particular, to the problems of ensuring communication in such systems, which are caused by the use of strict standards in the areas of application of such ICSs, is covered. The implementation of multi-agent interaction based communication, which makes it possible to ensure a given level of ICS performance using reconfiguration in the case of failures of system parts, is considered. An operational algorithm for a reconfigurable network switch, which allows maintaining maximum performance of the communication environment in cases of emergencies, is proposed. In addition, a description of the pros and cons of the proposed algorithm is given, as well as the specifics of its applications. It has been demonstrated that the proposed method of ensuring communication within critical systems is effective and its implementation can significantly increase their reliability characteristics.
